Lift the top, it’s got a few more miles
Let it sit and smoke
Tie a ring of string on your finger to remind
that it’s still broke
This time it’s not a joke
Then fall asleep and dream of a time
we're just kids in a room
In a permanent state of bliss no need to worry
Good news is coming soon
There's no impending doom
Every time feels like the first time
Bad bad memory
Every line sounds like the first line
Bad bad bad memory
20 0 9, I was in a different life
Studying the words people say
Their good lessons, repeating confessions
They must have slipped away
Cuz I keep making their mistakes
Oooh, my love
Oooh, my love
Don’t go, don’t go, it don’t, don’t go away
Let it sit and smoke
Tie a ring of string on your finger to remind
that it’s still broke
This time it’s not a joke
Then fall asleep and dream of a time
we're just kids in a room
In a permanent state of bliss no need to worry
Good news is coming soon
There's no impending doom
Every time feels like the first time
Bad bad memory
Every line sounds like the first line
Bad bad bad memory

Oooh, my love
Don’t go, don’t go, it don’t, don’t go away

She has a voice so soft
It’s almost not even there
She has the kind of touch
It’s almost carried on air
She says I’m hard on myself
And hard on my health
And that hardly ends well
And I’m always coming down
Even with my feet on the ground
Even when I think I’ve found
What I’m missing
I’m always waking up
Nowhere close enough
But one day love
It’ll be different
Now I’ve been sitting so long
In one place at a time
That I built up the front
That I’m hiding behind
She says that rabbit hole stuff, is
Just tricks of the mind
And I could go back up
Or I’m always coming down
Even with my feet on the ground
Even when I think I’ve found
What I’m missing
I’m always waking up
Nowhere close enough
But one day love
It’ll be different
I wonder what it is you see
When you’re looking at me
If it’s even close
To how I want it to be
Is it more than most
In your history
To keep company
Even if I’m always coming down
Even with my feet on the ground
I can't seem to make a sound
That's worth listening to
I’m always waking up
Nowhere close enough
But one day love
It’ll be different
I'm coming down, always coming down
It’s almost not even there
She has the kind of touch
It’s almost carried on air
She says I’m hard on myself

And I’m always coming down
