Artist
Born Ophir Kutiel, Kutiman is an Israeli songwriter, musician, producer, orchestra leader, mixologist and video artist. His distinct style is a culmination of many influences, from deep funk and Afrobeat, to Middle Eastern sounds, electronica, psychedelic rock, soul, folk and jazz. Following the success of his first single and album released on Melting Pot Music in 2007, Kutiman went on to create 'ThruYou', a song that amassed an incredible 10 million YouTube views in just 2 weeks. The piece is an amalgamation of amateur music recordings that he downloaded from YouTube, cutting, splicing and mixing parts together. As a result, Kutiman received several commissions as well as requests to collaborate from stars such as Moby and Maroon 5. Kutiman continues to create critically acclaimed albums, collaborate with musicians from across the globe and explore a range of genres, most recently Thai jazz and Molam dub in EP 'Hibiscus'.
