Avi Rafael

Biography

Avi Rafael is a jazz saxophonist and composer based in Los Angeles. He was exposed to music at a young age while growing up in Tel Aviv, Israel and began playing the clarinet at the age of 6 before switching to the saxophone. He attended and graduated from Israel's Rimon School of Jazz Music as an adult, where he learned from and perform with some of the country's top musicians. Avi relocated to Boston after being awarded a prestigious scholarship to the Berklee College of Music and graduated in 2018. He is currently working as a musician, arranger, composer and teacher.
