More about Alice Austin

Alice Austin is a music journalist from London, but got her musical education in Berlin where she lived for 5 years. Alice likes to explore youth and subculture through the lens of music, a vocation that has led her around the world. She’s covered underground scenes in Hanoi, Marseille, Belfast, Lisbon, Amsterdam and Bali and interviewed pioneers such as Amelie Lens, Alan Fitzpatrick and Jeff Mills. She even went on tour with Charlotte de Witte once. As well as being an Artlist contributor, Alice writes for Mixmag, Beatportal, Huck, Dummy, Electronic Beats, Red Bulletin and more. She has a monthly radio residency called Beyond Front Left on Refuge Worldwide where she spotlights different scenes, genres and social issues related to dance music, and she also writes Beatportal’s monthly On Our Radar series.
