I threw a stone in the water, but the water was deep, so it sank to the bottom, under my feet
Been moving like that stone, from the north to the south, cutting through this heat, breathing air in through my mouth I haven't picked my head up, for more than one week
Cause the ground is caked in mud, and I don't trust my feet
With all this rain that's falling and no roof above my head, I question where I'm going, if I should turn and stay, and stay
Sometimes it seems we’ve lost it all
Wandering feet will brace the fall
I can’t stop this motion, I need to keep on through, with the only thing to guide me, a nightlight called the moon
Cause the places that I've gone to, and the things that I've seen, have more than one could ask for back home in New York City
Yeah on the road it's easy, to lose your train of thought, and forget about the things, that make you who you are
Someday I might get lonely, no solid ground to stand, but for now, I'll keep on drifting, who knows where this will end,
Yeah There's a million ways to wander, I think I've had my share, but in the end, its where you stand when you can say you're home
