Srishti Biyani, known by her stage name LASYA, is a Los Angeles based bansuri player, vocalist and music producer. She fuses eclectic music styles and draws influences from genres spanning Indian classical, experimental and hip-hop. A graduate in Electronic Production and Design from Berklee College of Music, Boston, she grew up learning Hindustani classical vocals and the bansuri at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi. 

She has performed across North America, Europe and India and has worked with internationally-acclaimed award-winning artists such as Shankar Mahadevan, Vijay Prakash, Nona Hendryx and Howard Shore at Boston Symphony Hall. She has also been a music production educator for “Beats by Girlz”, a non-profit organization, designed to empower young women in music technology. On various occasions she has lent her voice for documentaries and short films including “Brides of the Well”, a film by Shekhar Kapur for ‘WaterAid’. 

She is now a part of the “Berklee Indian Ensemble”; “Dashina”, a world fusion balkan band; “The Kashti Project”, an Indian contemporary music trio and an Indian-Turkish jazz duo - “Alper & LASYA”, a regular at Sofar Sounds. 

'Monsoon' seamlessly blends Ambient Electronica and laidback beats with Indian flavors through the traditional instrument Bansuri, creating a mood that is at the same time relaxing, dreamy and Groovy.
