After eight years of recording and touring with his former band, New Heights, Christopher Young was ready to stop writing songs. The idea of becoming a solo artist was never in the cards. But after moving to Los Angeles in 2015 and having a chance encounter with an old friend (who eventually produced the album), he felt inspired to write again. 

The album process began in early 2016. Young teamed up with producer, Ike Breton Van Groll, to collaborate on one track, which eventually turned into five songs over the next twelve months. The process included many late night sessions of Young sharing lyrical snippets and not-quite-finished-melodies with Van Groll. In fact, many of the songs that made the album were unfinished ideas hidden away in old emails.

After a year of recording, the album was mixed in Nashville by Chad Howat (Paramore) and mastered in Los Angeles by Eric Boulanger, who has worked with artists such as John Legend, One Republic, and Selena Gomez. 

The debut EP chronicles a critical period of self-discovery, and his hope is that the songs will connect with people both sonically and lyrically.
