What are music stems?
Stems are individual audio tracks that separate different elements of a song — like vocals, instruments, and effects. You can now download and mix these elements separately instead of working with a single, pre-mixed song. Want to highlight the vocals? Boost the drums, piano, and synths? Mute the bassline? With stems, the possibilities are endless.
Imagine being able to adjust the mix of a song to perfectly complement the mood of your video. You can download all the stems at once or pick just the ones you need, giving you the flexibility to tailor your soundtrack with precision.
How to use stems on Artlist
Using stems on Artlist is as easy as hitting download*. When browsing through our extensive music library, you’ll notice a new filter option, “Includes Stems.” This allows you to quickly find songs that come with stem files, so you can jump straight into creative mode.
Already have a favorite song in mind? Check your Download History, Favorites, or Artboards. If stems are available for that song, you’ll see the option to download them right there.
