New Artgrid Features: Curated Collections & Overlays

By Artlist 4 min read

  • A few months after launching the Aspect Ratio tool, Artgrid adds 2 new features.
  • Find the footage you need faster with the Curated Collections tool.
  • Use the Overlays feature to give your video depth and style.

Things have been busy on the stock footage site Artgrid. A few months ago, a new feature launched - the Aspect Ration tool - which allowed users to view how a clip would look in Portrait and square formats, and now we've added 2 more features to help improve the Artlist user experience.

Every feature at Artlist and Artgrid aims to either help creators find footage or music faster or provide more variety to our users.

This new round of Artgrid features achieves both goals.

Find the right footage faster with themed collections

The new Collections section on Artgrid will help you streamline your search for the footage you need. Let’s say you’re making a video that deals with the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of your relevant footage will be in 3 different collections: Pandemic, Empty Places and ‘Mask On!’. Browsing these curated collections could be the spark your creativity needs for finding ideas for the angle of your COVID-19 film. It could also set in motion the beginning of a storyline. At the very least, at Artgrid, you will find the vital shots you need to complete your film.

For inspiration, check out this Pandemic-themed short film made with only Artgrid footage:

To speed up your search, the Collections section on Artgrid’s homepage is organized by various themes. They range from straightforward topics, like Social Media, Cities, Food (Coffee, Wine...) and seasons (Spring, Winter, Summer, Fall), to abstract themes, like colors (Red, Green, Blue and Yellow) and geometric shapes (Round, Square, Triangle, Lines and Patterns).

Add that Wow effect to your video with overlays

If you want to add depth to your video and increase its artistic and production value, use the new Artgrid Overlays theme on your footage.

Create a nostalgic look using film effects, give it a futuristic feel with glitches or make your scene softer or more dreamy using light leaks and lens flares.

Check out the Overlays category in the Video Themes section:

Hope you’ll find the Collections and Overlays features useful and inspirational.
