Artlist MCP for Claude: Create without leaving the conversation

Highlights
There's a moment every creative knows. You're mid-brief, mid-thought, and you have to stop, open another tab, and double-check something. It could mean logging into another tool and re-explaining what you were going for. By the time you get back to the idea, something has been lost.
The Artlist MCP for Claude removes that interruption. Connect the Artlist MCP to Claude once, and you have Artlist's AI image and video generation at your fingertips. Access over 100+ models from Artlist's AI Toolkit directly inside Claude, and the creative possibilities are endless. No tab-switching. No re-uploading. No starting over.
Here's what that looks like across the full spectrum of how creatives actually work.
What is an MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that gives AI assistants like Claude secure, direct access to external tools and platforms. Instead of copying and pasting between apps, or re-uploading references every time you start a new session, Claude reaches into the connected platform and works with it in real time.
For creative work, this changes the fundamental shape of the workflow. Your brief, your references, your generation history don't disappear between tabs. They stay live in the conversation, available to build on at every step.
Connecting the Artlist MCP to Claude takes under a minute. Once it's live, every image and video generation capability on Artlist from 100+ AI models, is accessible directly from your Claude chat.
How it works
Three things are running behind the scenes every time you generate through the MCP.
Claude interprets what you're going for, reads your brief, understands the context built up across the conversation, and translates your intent into the specific parameters each model needs. You don't have to write prompts, like you would ordinarily. You can describe what you're making, and Claude handles the technical layer.
Artlist runs the generation, processing the output, and returning the finished asset back into your Claude conversation. At the same time, every generation saves automatically to a dedicated session in your Artlist account, ready to find, download, or share.
From your side, it looks like one conversation. Underneath, the work that used to run across three or four separate sessions is handled in one place.
You don't need to know anything about AI to use an MCP
If you've never chosen a model in your life, that's fine. You don't need to.
Open Claude. Describe what you're making, perhaps a social video for a product launch, a bold visual for an ad or a hero shot for a campaign, Claude asks the right questions, guides you toward the best model for the brief, and generates the result.
And when you need to iterate, like make it darker, or try a wider shot, or add more movement, Claude already knows the context. You're not re-briefing from scratch. You're building on what's already there.
For the creative who knows what they want
Say you're running a campaign for a clothing brand. You need a hero image, a product video, and a localized version for a different market, and you need options before you commit to a direction.
Inside Claude, that workflow looks different from what you're used to. You’d start by briefing the campaign out loud. Ask Claude to generate 3 hero shot options, each with different moods. Then, you can review them directly in the conversation, pick out your favorite direction, then ask for the video using Seedance 2.0, and localize the content and adapt it for a new market.
Claude processes each step and checks in before moving to the next one. You stay in control. Those pesky decisions that might usually slow you down, like which model to use, or which aspect ratio is best, they all get answered in the same conversation as the work itself.
With 100+ models available, including Nano Banana, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.5 (coming soon), Kling, and Gemini Omni Flash, you can match the right model to each part of the brief. Or ask Claude to recommend the best fit based on what you're making.
For the professional running at scale
For agencies and production teams running multiple briefs, the Artlist MCP has a capability that changes the workflow entirely: it lives alongside every other MCP you're already running in Claude.
That means your creative generation isn't happening in isolation. Pull in a news feed MCP, a brand guidelines document, a campaign performance report, and the Artlist MCP works with all of it in the same conversation. When your brief is smarter, you can generate faster. Your creative decisions are informed by everything in your stack, not just what you can remember to re-paste into a new prompt, which is a huge advantage for busy teams, creating content at scale.
A practical example: pull your brand voice guide into the conversation via Google Drive, brief the campaign, generate hero shot options across different moods, review them in the same thread, and ship the approved direction to your team. The context that usually gets lost between handoffs stays intact from brief to output.
Where your generations live
Every asset you generate through the MCP saves automatically to a dedicated session in your Artlist account. That matters for two reasons. First, you can find anything by describing it. "The wide-angle product shot from the spring campaign" is a search, not a scroll through a folder of unnamed exports. It’s how you asked for it, so that’ usually how you remember it. Second, your team can access the same library. Marketing, creative, and production can all draw from the same Artlist account while briefing through their own Claude sessions, without duplicating assets or chasing files across Slack threads.
