You’re gonna be a fiddler someday
But you better get to practicing before you’re old and grey
And your best years slip away
We laughed and joked and skipped along the way
And wondered if we’d ever be nostalgic for these days
When we are old and grey
Sat with a sad old man in a dark cafe
Asked him what he’s living for, he said, Not much these days
You are young, you best be on your way
We walked all day and on into the night
Got there just before the shining early morning light
And it was such a sight
No matter what you’re dreaming you will be
A fiddler and astronaut or the man that's on TV
Well do it, don’t just wait and see
But you better get to practicing before you’re old and grey
And your best years slip away
We laughed and joked and skipped along the way
And wondered if we’d ever be nostalgic for these days
When we are old and grey
Sat with a sad old man in a dark cafe

No matter what you’re dreaming you will be
A fiddler and astronaut or the man that's on TV
Well do it, don’t just wait and see
C'mon and step outside the mind
Through the window of time
No use waiting for a sign
To color outside of the lines
They will never keep me down
With bitter words and angry sounds
Though it haunts me like a hound
They will never keep me down
Cause we’ve been through worse than this
Cause we’ve been through worse than this
Cause we’ve been through worse than this
And made it through...the other side, the other side
C'mon and let yourself be wild
Free and careless like a child
Put on your shoes and walk for miles
Meet the darkness with a smile
Through the window of time
No use waiting for a sign
To color outside of the lines
They will never keep me down
With bitter words and angry sounds
Though it haunts me like a hound
They will never keep me down
Cause we’ve been through worse than this
Cause we’ve been through worse than this
Cause we’ve been through worse than this
And made it through...the other side, the other side
C'mon and let yourself be wild
Free and careless like a child
Put on your shoes and walk for miles
Meet the darkness with a smile
Honey, what you doing to me, my love
Honey, what you doing to me
Come on in and make yourself at home
Honey, what you doing to me
Honey, what you doing with your 170 IQ
Honey, what you doing to me
Come on in and make yourself at home
Honey, what you doing to me
Tell me 'bout your troubles and I’ll tell you 'bout mine
Honey, I’ve got time, honey, I’ve got time
Tell me 'bout your worries and I’ll tell you 'bout mine
Honey, I’ve got time, honey, I’ve got time
Tell me why you laugh and why you cry
Honey, I’ve got time, honey, I’ve got time
Honey, what you doing to me, my love
Honey, what you doing to me
Come on in and make yourself at home
Honey, what you doing to me
Honey, what you doing with your sweet dark eyes
Honey, what you doing to me
Come on in and make yourself at home
Honey, what you doing to me
Tell me 'bout your troubles and I’ll tell you 'bout mine

I’m not the first to fall in love
Or to burn with an aching in my throat
But something’s calling out to me like fire
And it’s you that I want to take me home
You are kind, you are gentle
You are crazy, you are wild
You are strong and you are loving
You’re the only one I want
I’m not the first to hold your hand
But damn, I would love to be the last
I’ll stand with you as long as you will let me
As the future turns to past
But I gotta tell you
That I am bruised and broken
The truth has been spoken
These wounds I have ain’t never gonna heal
Though I’m bruised and broken
My heart’s wide open
I know who I am and what I have...what I have to do
I’m not the first to stay up all night
With a love song in my head
But something’s calling out to me like fire
And it’s with you that I want to lay my head
Or to burn with an aching in my throat
But something’s calling out to me like fire
And it’s you that I want to take me home
You are kind, you are gentle
You are crazy, you are wild
You are strong and you are loving
You’re the only one I want
I’m not the first to hold your hand

I know who I am and what I have...what I have to do
I’m not the first to stay up all night
With a love song in my head
But something’s calling out to me like fire
And it’s with you that I want to lay my head
No pain like being alone
No hurt like leaving home
No matter where I go, cold rain or snow
No pain like being alone
In the morning I’ll pack my bags
Suitcase of clothes, guitar on my back
No matter where I go, I’ma wander down the line
I’m leaving the place that was mine
My feet were set deep in the ground
Uprooted by that awful sound
The rain washes down, the dirt from this town
And honey, you won’t see me around
I’m leaving and I don’t know where I’ll go
Travel these hills, in the cold rain and snow
Searching for a sign, that’ll bring me back home
But it kills me, wherever I go
No hurt like leaving home
No matter where I go, cold rain or snow
No pain like being alone
In the morning I’ll pack my bags
Suitcase of clothes, guitar on my back
No matter where I go, I’ma wander down the line
I’m leaving the place that was mine
My feet were set deep in the ground
Uprooted by that awful sound
The rain washes down, the dirt from this town
And honey, you won’t see me around
I’m leaving and I don’t know where I’ll go
Travel these hills, in the cold rain and snow
Searching for a sign, that’ll bring me back home
But it kills me, wherever I go
Running round, feet over the ground
Hear the sound, heartbeat as it pounds
No sleep, always keep it moving
No rest, always trying to prove it
Everything is happening too fast
Capture the moment while it lasts
Find the pause in all this crazy madness
From now on, I will love with my whole heart
Here we stand, together in the wreckage
Of a world undone, we will heal with our own hands
We will heal it...with our hands
We will heal it...with our hands
All we are, will soon turn into nothing
So do your best to give away your loving
Hold em close, the ones who give you meaning
Never know when they could be leaving
Everything is happening too fast
Capture the moment while it lasts
Find the pause in all this crazy madness
From now on, I will love with my whole heart
Here we stand, together in the wreckage
Of a world undone, we will heal with our own hands
We will heal it...with our hands
We will heal it...with our hands

Be still my beating heart, be still
Be still my restless mind
I’ll take you in and comfort you
Be still my worried mind
Hold on my shaking hands, hold on
Soon there will be peace
See the sun set in the West
Then turn and face the East
I’m sorry for the times I left
Left you all alone
From this day forth, I’m here to stay
So let me take you home
Rest your weary head my love
There's nothing left to do
From this day forth, I’m here to stay
It’s just me and you
In the darkest hour of the night
I face myself alone
Be still my lonely soul be still
Yes I will take you home
I’ll take you in and comfort you
I’ll keep you by my side
Be still my restless mind
I’ll take you in and comfort you
Be still my worried mind
Hold on my shaking hands, hold on
Soon there will be peace
See the sun set in the West
Then turn and face the East
I’m sorry for the times I left
Left you all alone
From this day forth, I’m here to stay
So let me take you home
Rest your weary head my love

In the darkest hour of the night
I face myself alone
Be still my lonely soul be still
Yes I will take you home
I’ll take you in and comfort you
I’ll keep you by my side
I’m sorry for the way you choose to see
But I’m not sorry for the way I have to be
I’m sorry for the pain that’s in our heart
Never thought we’d be this far apart
There’s a place, out beyond
Wrong and right, good and bad, black and white
There’s a place, out beyond
What is fair, I’ll meet you there
If I could only have you one more time
I’d give you all my heart and all my mind
The future is a mirror of the past
Love like that was never meant to last
Tired of running from my sins, oh lover
Still feel your courage on my sin
Tired of running from my sins, oh lover
Still feel your courage on my sin
Don’t know how it starts or how it ends
A lonely heart has brought it back again
Don’t know if it’s right or if it’s wrong
I feel your body underneath this song
But I’m not sorry for the way I have to be
I’m sorry for the pain that’s in our heart
Never thought we’d be this far apart
There’s a place, out beyond
Wrong and right, good and bad, black and white
There’s a place, out beyond
What is fair, I’ll meet you there
If I could only have you one more time

Tired of running from my sins, oh lover
Still feel your courage on my sin
Don’t know how it starts or how it ends
A lonely heart has brought it back again
Don’t know if it’s right or if it’s wrong
I feel your body underneath this song
With eyes as black as the night
Body soft as the clay
Hair flows down like the water
Nothing left to say
Meet me where the mountains touch the sky
Out beyond what’s wrong and what is right
Meet me where the moon pulls at the tide
Out beyond what’s wrong and what is right
Smoke in my lungs, sweat on my hands
Legs burning up like the desert sands
Breath like the wind, heart like a fire,
Give it all up to the beast of desire
Body soft as the clay
Hair flows down like the water
Nothing left to say
Meet me where the mountains touch the sky
Out beyond what’s wrong and what is right
Meet me where the moon pulls at the tide
Out beyond what’s wrong and what is right
Smoke in my lungs, sweat on my hands
Legs burning up like the desert sands
Breath like the wind, heart like a fire,
Give it all up to the beast of desire
Pack your bags, say all your goodbyes
Get ready for the ride of your life
You’ll be traveling way across the sea
I know you’re trying to set yourself free
So when you’re out there on the road
And you’re feeling so alone
No matter where you go
You can always come back home, You can always come back home
We’ll be singing songs just like we do
We’ll always save a harmony for you
When you’re traveling oh so far away
You’ll have your voice, so don’t forget to say
When I’m out there on the road
And I’m feeling so alone
No matter where I go
I can always come back home, I can always come back home
So pack your bags, hold your head up high
Here comes the ride of your life
So when you’re cold and the winter winds attack
Remember your friends always got your back
So when you’re out there on the road
And you’re feeling so alone
No matter where you go
You can always come back home, You can always come back home
Get ready for the ride of your life
You’ll be traveling way across the sea
I know you’re trying to set yourself free
So when you’re out there on the road
And you’re feeling so alone
No matter where you go
You can always come back home, You can always come back home
We’ll be singing songs just like we do

Remember your friends always got your back
So when you’re out there on the road
And you’re feeling so alone
No matter where you go
You can always come back home, You can always come back home
Over the valley
Felt you in the breeze
Followed the calling
Brought me to my knees
Over the forest
Felt you in the pine
Sweet soft music
Coming down the line
Keep me close
When you’re on the open road
Find the light when darkness grows
I will always love you
Over the mountain
Deeper than belief
Tearing down the border
Leading you to me
Keep me close
When you’re on the open road
Find the light when darkness grows
I will always love you
Time and space and poetry
Metaphors and similes
All the beauty that I see
When I feel you next to me
Sing your song
Whether it is right or wrong
Though we won’t be here for long
I will always love you
Keep me close
When you’re on the open road
Find the light when darkness grows
I will always love you
Something inside you
Burning like the sun
Something inside you
Showing me that it’s enough
Felt you in the breeze
Followed the calling
Brought me to my knees
Over the forest
Felt you in the pine
Sweet soft music
Coming down the line
Keep me close

Something inside you
Showing me that it’s enough
Many unseen forces
Move my blood and shake my soul
And as I stumble through this inner land
I wonder if I’ll make it home
I swear I’m bound to turn the corner
Around which I have never seen
Beyond the doors of past imagining
The deepest place I’ve ever been
Fear is the teacher
If I have the guts to dive
Into the blackest chambers
Of my lonely heart and mind
Forgot to remember to forget
The escape that keeps me from myself
We all face death and God alone
When we die there’s no one else
Though I don’t like what I see
I can’t turn my back and run
I must wake up from this hurt
And do what I know must be done
Move my blood and shake my soul
And as I stumble through this inner land
I wonder if I’ll make it home
I swear I’m bound to turn the corner
Around which I have never seen
Beyond the doors of past imagining
The deepest place I’ve ever been

There’s a traitor in my head that want to take me down
Destroy all that I’ve worked for, throw it all to hell
Come on, he says, Do it, it’ll feel so good
Don’t listen to your friends say we don’t think you should
He speaks to me in my own voice
Tells me that I have no choice
But I won’t follow you through the neon avenues
The crooked alleyways where the night don’t turn to day
The lonesome barroom halls, smoky lustful calls
Of pleasure that will quickly turn to pain and ruin and death and misery
I’ll lose my love for you my love for me
Trade self worth for a moment’s ecstasy
There's a devil in my heart that wants to burn it all
Rip out all the pages watch as the ashes fall
Come on he says do it, it’ll feel so good
Don’t listen to your friends say we don’t think you should
He speaks to me in my own voice
Tells me that I have no choice
But I won’t follow you through the neon avenues
