After countless late-nights working on his craft over the past 10 years, Rob Shih is now a fully-fledged production machine. He has become a versatile, ethereal producer under the moniker, Kiba.

The Kiba project began when moving back to his hometown of San Francisco after living abroad and traveling in Australia. Delving deep into his own creative mind, his explorative synthesis and production styles took over and allowed him to create the wonderfully intricate project we hear today. Self-described as emotional, cinematic and futuristic, his brand of bass music takes influences from a multitude of sub-genres such as Trance, Drum & Bass, Mid-tempo, Dubstep, Trap, Wave, and Techno.

Kiba has had previous releases on Simplify Recordings: ‘Good Love’ featuring Ericalisa, as well as his 3-song EP entitled 'Echoes'. He has also released a unique melodic mid-tempo track entitled 'Heartless' on Reid Speed's record label, Play Me Records. One of his self-releases, a melodic Deep House cut entitled 'Space Cadet', has received podcast support from artists such as Tritonal and JES. His biggest project yet, a 5-track EP entitled "Seraph" is set to be released in March this year.

2018 was the year that Kiba moved to Seattle and began bringing his sound from the studio into shows and club performances. He opened for Medasin on the Seattle stop of his Irene tour and played on support for the Majestic Casual World Tour stop in San Francisco. He also became a resident DJ/Producer with the Seattle-based artist collective, WAVES Presents. 2019 had also been a notable year, as Kiba had his first experience playing on stage at a music festival: Paradiso, at the Gorge Amphitheater. This momentum has continued into 2020, as he has played at some of Seattle's largest clubs and venues supporting artists such as Valentino Khan, Bijou, and Inzo, with upcoming shows supporting MUST DIE! and Getter.

An immediate impact has been made on a vastly busy industry and Kiba is just getting started. He proves that behind every group of ten-a-penny producers, there are raw, passionate individuals who create music as an art-form.
